Thai Workers in Iran Safe Amid Unrest, Labor Ministry Assures

Labor Minister Trinut Teantong announced on Wednesday that she has instructed Thai labor officials at the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi to closely monitor the safety of Thai workers in Iran following recent civil unrest and anti-government protests.

According to the initial assessment, approximately 38 Thai workers currently in Iran remain safe and have not been affected by the ongoing demonstrations. Officials are on standby to arrange evacuation if necessary, though such measures have not yet been deemed required.

"We have alerted all Thai workers to exercise heightened caution while traveling and to avoid areas where protests are taking place," Teantong stated. "They are advised not to participate in any anti-government demonstrations under any circumstances for their safety."

The labor ministry has instructed Thai workers to closely follow updates from the Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran and the labor affairs section at the embassy in Abu Dhabi, as well as official announcements from Iranian authorities. To date, there have been no reports of Thai workers being involved in or affected by the unrest.
